Without You
Without You
I closed up camp today
Everything is so hard without you
Physically, mentally, and emotionally
When you passed away it was the beginning of summer
I have always loved the fall but now it seems like a time of ending and I dread the leaves falling
And the winter to come
It all stretches out before me
Like a huge unanswered question about what will be
And will I be able to cope
With so much on my plate
I know that I will handle things as they come
But I don’t want to
Without you

Oh, DEar Marsha, how well you described your feelings that so much echo mine. I wish you could be close so we could give each other a big hug.
I didn;t sleep much again. Woke up and cried, all alone... only his ashes
on the table which I brought home last night. Emptiness and silence...
I don;t know how I will take it... But it has to get better for both of us... it has to...
I am NOT crazy, nor am I morbid but here is my little story: I slept with Jim\'s ashes next to me for the month before his service. It was hard to part with his \"urn.\" It was a family joke that, when he retired, he and all his fellow retirees were given valet boxes for their dressers. The valet boxes were ordered in error and were, in fact, urns for burial. That box sat on his dresser for 11 years and I threatened him with it often when I was mad at him for something-and then we\'d laugh. When I buried his ashes I kept part of them. We were reenactor\'s (the cannon crew) for the War of 1812. I have had his ashes shot out of the cannon at every event this summer and have scattered some at all of our favorite places and will continue to do so. He would have loved what I am doing. His ashes have brought great comfort and memories to me. I hope your husband\'s do as well. I, too, wish I lived close to you and all the wonderful people on this site. Thinking of you.
Love and hugs. Marsha
