wishing!
wishing so much that i could find a friend that wanted to be close with me like a really close friendship. ive been praying for it for so long! why am i having such a hard time finding someone online and in person?????? i just have tried everything and every site and nothing is working. just want close friendship so bad.

Do you want me to give you my honest opinion? This is a journal entry so I hate to give unsolicited advice. But if you want my thoughts, let me know...
Maybe you could take a college course or a course offered by your city community services that interests you. I\'ve found that the easiest way to meet people is by being around people with similiar interests. It can be scary, but, sometimes you just have to put yourself out there, hon.
Don\'t try to force a close friendship; those types of things can take time to develop. Just seek to do things that you enjoy...you will meet people with similiar interests along the way.
Cyber-friendships are nice, but, I think you would do yourself more good by trying to foster in person relationships. I\'m not saying sites like this don\'t mean anything; it just sounds like you need someone to have lunch with, go shopping with, see a movie, that type of thing.
Don\'t give up...just work on showing warmth and friendship to others and it will return to you...

I agree with loveblue2, close relationships take time. I can understand the need for a connection but when it\'s driven by a desperate hunger for it it can be harmed before it has time to truly become close. Finding an activity that you enjoy is helpful.
I go to Starbucks every night, which may not sound like much, but I had the longest period of not being very good at making friends, feeling very awkward and unsure of myself, and at the time that I started going had just moved out on my own. Slowly I started striking up conversations with other people who were sitting there and now I have quite the social circle there. It didn\'t happen overnight, but it happened. Is there even a place you could go read or bring your computer? Just a thought if a class seems overwhelming.

Start, I completely understand what you are going through. It\'s very hard to find some good friends, at least from my end. It seems like most people meet their \"best friend\" in high school and college. I know if u sign up for different activities like tennis or cooking classes, you can definitely meet some new people.
