wisdom

This is my journey and nobody else's, sure I may have company on this trip, even people who are there for me everyday, but it the end this road is mine alone to walk. Everyones journey through life is different, some have the world handed to the on a platter, but most of us have to climb and claw our way through the days. Ive become a bit of an expert on time during this trip, it has always filled me with wonder that some of the very things that make my life so difficult are also the things that teach me the most. I used to rush through things, always getting places early so I could be done that much sooner. But now my days are filled with pain, so I have become an expert at slowing down, everything from my movements to my breathing. All drugs aside sometimes the only way to get past the pain is to slow down, count my breaths and the seconds until it passes. And using this technique i have discovered some of the most amazing things. The way the sunrise makes my infant daughters hair glow like its ablaze with light, the way nature can bring together a multitude of colors making up a visual symphony for my soul. And there a literally moments like this everywhere, you just have to look. If my pain has tought me nothing else it has shown me to live in these tiny moments between seconds, whithin their beauty and grace i believe i will not only find salvation, but the key to maintaining my sanity as well.......
