Winter Game
This guy has been hanging around my house so I grabbed the nearest camera and chased him until I could get a fairly decent photo. The batteries were dead and I was all out of replacements so had to get another camera and go find him again. He is pretty clever at hiding in the thickets of my fir trees. I finally flushed him out and caught him in the bog behind my house. I used the telephoto to get a closeup, in the wind on a brutally cold, winter day.

Beautiful shot and the adventure to find the camera with enough battery life in it to get the shot! Hurrah!
Nice shot. They are clever and I rarely see them on my hikes. Usually they just scare the bejesus out of me when I startle them.
Thanks
that tastes like Chicken......yummie pheasant.....
love it Bob, are you going to feed it ? May be hungry, what do they eat ? Lovin that snow xxx
Great shot. No eating! Thanks for sharing!
Great pic! Happy New Year
very nice, happy new year friend
December is hunting season on these birds where I live. I dont hunt but I am just surprised that he made it though the month of december unharmed. I saw him multiple times eating the apples that fell off my trees especially after all the rain we had recently, melted most of the snow. I never once saw him take to the air. He is a runner, lol
Such a blessing when we can appreciating nature like this.
Wow, what a shot, Bob! That's just amazing. Frame it, won't you?
Beautiful Bob
