Winter and Other Things

We've had an up and down winter so far.  Temperatures have fluctuated from highs in the 30s with lows in the lower 20s and upper teens to lows in the 60s and highs in the upper 70s.  It's in the 80s today.  That makes it hard on me.  With the wide range of temps, the house stays cold on the cold days and nights.  A "normal" winter would allow me to seal the two window air conditioners to keep the cold air out.  But this year, its meant I would be sealing and unsealing them which would wear out the sealing material.  Nights have been in the lower 30s and upper 20s in my bed room at times.  The air conditioner is on now and will be in the bed room tonight.  There's a cool front coming in in a few days so it'll be cold again.  I went out in the back yard and am happy to say I have another great crop of rocks with sizes ranging from pebble to lethal if thrown.  Most of them are chalk and would be great for drawing hopscotch layouts.  They're on sale for a dollar a pound plus shipping and processing.  I'm trying to get more photos of Kit, but the only place he rests and naps is on me.  He is still sleeping touching me at night, but I think he's used to me moving him over when I change positions.  He's still unsure of our relationship and begs for love all the time.  While I love loving him, a little less would help.  You can't help but love him and he's so cute.  When he looks at me with those big eyes and those big ears are perked, I melt.  Still looking for a cheap replacement for salami and baloney sandwiches.  Where's pressed ham when you need it?  The closest thing to pressed ham is called chopped ham and might as well be sliced ham the way its priced.  I seem to burn out on peanut butter pretty fast.  Maybe its because it doesn't taste like the stuff I remember as a kid.  Still looking for those variety packs that aren't turkey.  My biscuits are getting better since I got the cutters and now are three breakfasts a week.  Bagels take three more leaving one for either a burrito or oatmeal.  Healthy breakfasts are just about gone.  I need a good long cold front to come through so I'll have an excuse to make a big pot of chili.  Haven't had any this winter.  My emphysema is getting worse, but I can't stop smoking or even cut down.  I've resigned to die by it.  Well, I guess I better stop now.  Kit's nudging me to let me know my computer time is up.

I\'m been too ill to visit -- I miss visiting as it gives what is special to such a life as this is to endure. I hear Bupropion that is given for depression is also used for smoking cessation -- just a thought.

I\'m so glad you and kit have each other.

The only person helping me these past two months is a neighbor who claims to be \'Christian\' but one night he tried kissing on me and I backed away and he then told me that if I want people to help me in my situation then I need to be willing to do what they want of me. It made me feel I was going to throw up. I\'m so ill from the ten years of this since my husband died and then to have this creep of a Christian adding this trauma to the nightmare. I wish the advanced stage cancer I had fought at the time of my husband\'s death had killed me as that would have been a death of mercy compared to these ten years of coping too ill to manage well at the mercy of creeps and the rest of \'monsterville\' I seem to live in called society.

Well, if there are limits to endurance I imagine I am so far pushed beyond them at this point Im numb any longer it is the numbness keeping me alive it appears. Okay, when is Rod Serling to come center stage to give his monologue of the Twilight Zone I am living in?

((hugs)) to you and Kit
