Try 24 degrees. That\'s cold!!! Didn\'t they put a cone on the cats head to keep him/her from scratching it?
turned out the cat had herpes in the eye, they removed the eye. they said it effects the cornea so the cat was blind in that eye. the doctor thought it was a blood clot, but when he went in he found the herpes was behind where the eyeball had been and onto the bone, so he had to scrape the bone as well.
no cone. they gave pain meds. its only a kitten around 4 months. we had another one without an eye come in. the rescuer said it was swollen out. instead the entire eyeball was out and they said the other eye had the same thing. the kitten was 4 weeks old and would lose both eyes.
i talked to k about it and he said herpes is very painful to have. its also zoonotic so people can get it. then i talked to sh that has a cat with herpes called garfield. she says its cost them thousands in vet bills over the years because it get sick so much...its been a mess of a day and headed over to the clinic again now. grrrrr.
So sorry about the cat. Stay warm!!
