Winding Down
Well my week off from work/ everything has wound down. I did not accomplish a whole lot, but basically just enjoyed being at ease, comfortable and with no impending worries overwhelming me. That part was great.
I did catch up with an old friend and have made plans to get together every month. There are a few others I do plan on connecting with, just haven't quite gathered up enough courage yet.
Tomorrow would have been Mom's birthday. I'm not sure how to look at it. I'm sad because she's no longer here or that she was not here long enough for me to truly appreciate and do for her.
I used to feel sad because she gave up her whole sense of self and she became mom, wife, care giver and one who did for everyone (but herself) and sadly, in our family it seemed that few gave back or did for her. I may have finally resolved myself to the fact that she was who she chose to be and she was loved and missed by many. I think I finally realize that my path is far from hers, but it is mine . I was given some very helpful wisdom (by way of experiences or knowledge from others) to remind me that my path has also been basically a good one as well.
I (like many) do have regrets of things I never got the chance to do. But if I am smart (and not quite the chicken lol) there is still time for some adventures still

manly adventures I hope Kim....LOL I know you have mixed feelings about that.....I just think there is someone out there for you.....
Have not heard anything text wise about making that endocrinologist appointment yet.....get on it girl....hugs bill yes I am yelling again...LOL
Yes! Let go of those regrets and have those adventures asap!
Hugs my friend. That is all I can say, we need to look after ourselves. But women of yesteryears were not given that chance. And they were taken advantage of.
I promise I will work on it. I think what holds me back is remembering those times not so long ago that I did muster courage only to be reminded by my share of the wrong men who were simply looking for a booty call from some curvalicious young thing. Dating sites (even when they are supposed to be for a specific target) are bombarded with alot of overeager, dishonest "rakes" (to borrow a phrase from Bridgerton).
I don't do dating sites anymore. If I meet anyone, the fates that be will cross our paths. In order for me to rebuild my confidence and courage I do think I need to simply reconnect with my late husband's friend. We shall see.
Bill I'll make that call.
It sounds like relaxing and positive for the most part! To meet up with an old friend who wants to renew the friendship is a lovely thing.
Take care of your health, friend!
You are a start woman and you've had a good (enough) life. No human being escapes life without sorrow and pain. We are here to learn something. This is the time of life that humans tend to look back and want connections with other humans, younger generations, to have meant something to someone. Don't live in the regrets, who doesn't have regrets. Let them motivate you in some way, even if just to let them be.
