Will this ever end
Still short of breath even though I supposedly don't have copd or heart failure. Some times it seems a bit better but then always worsens again. And my anxiety over it is increasing, along with insomnia. And I'm still drinking because it's the only thing that makes me - well- not forget but at least relax more about my chronic shortness of breath. And of course I know alcohol is only going to cause more problems, and doesn't help my breathing or sleep, but at least I can get a few hours here and there. Now I'm worried I'm physically addicted to alcohol in addition to my original breathing issue. The chronic lack of sleep isn't helping anything either. I'm trying to taper off the alcohol while still trying to find someone who can help me figure out the breathing. At this point if not for my daughter I think I'd just want to give up. I don't want to die, but at the same time the idea of peace sounds nice.
I don't know why I'm having the chronic shortness of breath but I can only imagine the hell the advanced copd people are going through. I guess you never know what someone else feels like if you can't walk a mile in their shoes. Good spirometry numbers or not this crap is killing me. At least if I knew I had COPD, or heart failure, or even pulmonary hypertension, MS, whatever is causing this I would KNOW and could take steps to deal with it or at least make my peace with it. Yeah and I'm now having tingling and numbness in extremities so maybe I have diabetes or alcohol induced neuropathy. It's so hard functioning on only a few bad hours of sleep each night for weeks - everything is just going to hell. I need to start feeling better, find out what is wrong with me, or just go ahead and die. I hate feeling sorry for myself - well I like it for a minute if I'm honest, but it gets old really fast - just like me evidently.
