Wierd air today-or maybe its just gas
I have been in a funk since I woke up this morning and no sooner than I arrived to work it has been none stop mess. Ihad talked to my friend down south about going to visit her, and thought we had agreed on the 25th and 26th however I received a text reminding me it was actually the 18th and 19th. So..I guess I will be driving 4 hrs early this Sat morning and driving back late Sun night.
If I don't go now, I may never go-No camping for me this weekend. I have anxiety about going-my ex and his kids still live there but hoping we don't cross paths.
I know Roomie is not happy about me going but that is ok-just another reason why he's a roommate and nothing else. He did offer for me to take the train but it is actually quicker to drive. My boss offered me Friday off however it wouldnt help because my friend works Friday eve till 8 so we wouldn't be spending much time that day anyway. I should take this trip-I haven't been back since I left my ex almost 3 yrs ago. I just have to let me friend know that I am not interested into going back to the store I worked in and seeing everyone-I strickly just want to spend time with her.
I didn't use to be so put off by seeing people, but, I grown cynical. Down South there is more pressure to be beautiful and perfect and the last few years have roughed me up that I am afraid of being judged.

Weird air and gas are running buddies, aren't they? Not the same, but they run the same circles. Or am I lost in metaphor again?
When I visit with people who *knew me when*, I always find myself embarrassed that I don't have more glamorous progress to show them but I'm also always glad I nudged myself past that embarrassment. A time or three it even helped me see progress I hadn't noticed while I was busy being embarrassed. I have a camp cot I carry with me when I do road trips. Setting up the cot in a friend's backyard can make for a sweet little camp adventure.
Well...the tents always in the back of the car.....
