why, just why
I was just diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy on Friday. It was after numerous (9) seizures of unknown origin. I have Lupus, DJD, and a host of other issues at the age of 35. I don't know why this is all happening, my last seizure a week ago yesterday scared me more the rest because it was so different from the others. All the rest were grand mal and I didn't know I was having them until after they were finished, no aura or anything. This last one I was completely aware through the whole thing but could do nothing at all, not even cry out for help. ive had both an EEG and an mri but both were clear, not even a hint of any cause which I must admit, horribly depresses me. I feel like if my family hadn't actually seen the seizures, hadn't had to help me and keep me from hurting myself, they would say its all in my head. I have a 9 month old son that I'm terrified to hold for fear of having another one while I am and hurting him. its hard, the fear the anticipation the wondering what next, the anxiety. The running gag in my house is what did we do in a past life to deserve this....

I was diagnosed at nine years old with idiopathic epilepsy. I have been in a depression stage since then and have tried to commit suicide twice by attempting to overdose myself. One of the best things you can do is find a counselor to talk to. Don\'t feel as if you did something to deserve it. It\'s just the cards we were delt. We\'re here if you need to talk.
Thank you, I to battle with depression, but for a different reason. I hope joining here will help me find answers. and in turn I hope I can help others. :)
