Why is life often bittersweet?

Life has been described as a wild rideon a rollercoster and that certainly describesmy life and for me if is often bittersweet!!! The following is a snap shot of a typical week: Sunday: Our phone is not working and the repair            man walks in while I am in the middle of            a bad agruement with my sons."I had be            come furious with them after they disrespected            me verbally. I could of died of embarrassment!! Monday: I was having a deep and meaningful discussion             with my co-worker when my boss tells me the             city inspector she has been expecting for six whole             months and on whose behalf she has been torturing             us has arrived. We got a great mark dispite the sticky             table the inspector put her papers on and that I had forgotten             to clean!!! Wednesday: My boss suddenly decides to give me a week of vacation next                   week and I am grossly under prepared!!! That means no breaks                  for me as I scrabble to finish things.Thursday: My boss is off and it is not stop stress at work as I prepare for                 Halloween and being off next week. My student asks for her evaluation                which I had completely forgotten to write. The work and the children                get to me and I feel deflated and exhausted at the end of the day.Friday: WHAT A DAY!!! HYPER AND SICK KIDS, A BOSS WHO ALMOST PUT HER           SELF IN THE HOSPITAL, DEADLINES AND TONS OF MESS TO CLEAN UP           AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST KIDS TO TAKE TRICK OR TREATING AND            ACQUAINTANCES TO MAKE SMALL TALK WITH!!! Today: The day starts when I find my Beloved cat which I have had for eighteen years dead. Well back to the rollercoaster of my life.................peace and friendship to all!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. That is so sad!! Your life sounds like it is at the same speed (and with similar bumps in the road) as mine. I get so exhausted too!! We must remember to take the time to remember all we have in our lives to cherish and to find peace in ourselves each day. You are a wonderful mom, friend, employee and woman with many gifts! I will be sending hope and good wishes your way!

Sounds like there are a lot of stressors in you life. I\'m so sorry to hear about your cat - our animal companions are very important and take a large part of our hearts. I hope that you can find enough opportunities to step off the rollercoaster now and then and find moments of peace and reflection. *hugs*

Sorry about your cat Ida-but at least she had a good long life(eighteen years is a long time for a cat). Sounds like you really had a rough week. Maybe taking next week off would be really good for you so you can rest up and relax after such a stressful week. May you find some peace in your day today. God bless:0)

Honey! I just read your journal! You never mentioned anything about your cat on Saturday. Or the stressful week you had. You were so gallant to come over to help me and yet, look what you went through. I\'m sorry I did not read your journal sooner. Sometimes I check to see if you journaled and sometimes you don\'t update it for a while. That\'s how I missed this. I am sorry to hear about your dear cat. Our pets are our family.

As for your week Ida, you are not alone. We all have stressors that make our lives difficult. Too bad people couldn\'t trade places with each other for a day or two. They might appreciate their own troubles a little more, lol. You want to try having a career in the retail industry in this economy. Although I only deal with the real estate side of things, I am surrounded by alot of morally dejected people and there seems to be signs of financial trouble for the company itself on the horizon. It makes going to work a very long day. I am not trying to minimalize what you are going through at all. Just wanted to point out that this is part of everyday life and sometimes you just need to learn to go with the flow, roll with the punches... so to speak. I\'ve learned to find my peaceful place inside myself for those times. But I guess that is sometimes hard to do with 3 boys around. Well, things will be better once I get settled here. You will have someplace to escape to once I get all set up.

Hope this week is better for you. At least the inspector thing is out of the way!

Love you bunches. Wishing you all the best.

Warm hugs, Liane

I am sorry about you cat, we lost one of ours last year so I can understand the heartache, I agree with you certainly life is a rollercoaster, it seems we are going either up or down, or dizzy with life, and it is friends which help smooth the bumps, I hope things become smoother for you.
