Why is Food SO Important to me?
I'm about 60 percent to my goal, 40 percent to go. To be exact, I've lost over 100 lbs. but still have 80 to go. It seems overwhelming. After losing so much already, I just wish I could quit! But I recognize that weight issues are a lifetime struggle. Some people on here have stated they will continue to binge even though they have made themselves ill. They just can't stop. That DOESN'T describe me. I rarely go on a big binge. But I feel I'm a food addict because food is too important to me. Through strict willpower, I manage to control my intake most days, BUT most of the time I'm thinking, when can I EAT AGAIN? Also, I can't keep sweets or peanut butter in the house because they would trigger me. Would like to be "normal" and be able to keep these foods available and portion them out. But so far, that hasn't happened.

Lady you should be proud. You have doen what many of us dream of. Keep up the good work and I hope you will be an inspiration to us laggers. Happy New Year.
I am so proud of you! You are over halfway to your goal! I understand the feeling of getting weary with the everyday struggle to stay on track. Been there....Correction - I am there! But know that we are not expected to be perfect so if we slip a bit it is OK. We just gather it all together and get back at it.
I am leaving wishes for a fantastic 2012! Love you!
Hi Judy, I think you are SO successful! In the same way that courage is the management of fear and not its absence, the management of temptation is the really important thing in maintaining a healthy diet. I don\'t think anyone can ever not be tempted at ALL, and you have shown such willpower and self-control! You really should be proud, and we are all proud of you too :) Best wishes for a great 2012, love RB xxx
Judy, food is supposed to be important but maybe the focus is positive. Just switch gears to being concerned about the quality and what\'s right for you rather than worry about whether you think of food too much? Planning is a good thing. It\'s natural, I think, for everyone to be concerned with their meals. Food is a nurturer. Your planning and changes have gotten you so far already! Don\'t lose heart. :)
It\'s good that you keep the foods away that trigger bad habits. That\'s just smart thinking, Judy. I\'m so glad you\'re my DS friend and we can work together to achieve our goals.
Keep up the great work, Judy! You deserve the fantastic results you\'ve achieved and I can only imagine how great you will be feeling to keep on track. :)
Big HUG,
~Lorrie
