Why Is it...

...I continually gravitate toward DARKNESS (in my soul)?  Is it because the Dark Side seems stronger?  Or that the Good Side requires so much more work and is exhausting?  I dunno, but I fall back on darkness as a reservoir of strength and stability.  It's comforting, something I can count on.  The Good Side is more confusing to me somehow. How to be "good", especially when I'm confronted with people I have to deal with to make a buck, people whom I find agitating and annoying???
The Dark Side, however, does NOT quell loneliness!  Therefore, which do I prefer, being lonely or being agitated?  I feel as though I must squelch any dark urges I have, which are typically geared toward sex and violence, to peacefully coexist with others.  With regards to violence, my mother, for example.  I wouldn't get physically violent toward her, but we sure do spar with words!!!  Perhaps I simply haven't met the right soul yet lol, one who ENCOURAGES my dark side, as I encourage hers, or simply have not found a way to peacefully coexist with someone...any advice is greatly appreciated...

Ah, the eternal questions of life. Jung considers the dark side of ourselves as our \'shadow self\', as opposed to our \'authentic self\'. There are entire psychological practices (and healing modalities) built around the concept of shadow work. You could google \'shadow work\' and see what you come up with that might fit.

I don\'t how deeply you might be into exploring this topic, and the causality in yourself, but I\'d highly recommend mkp.org, and consider doing a New Warrior weekend retreat being held in your area. It\'s strictly for men, and quite powerful. The weekend retreats are held in almost every state on a quarterly basis. I\'ve been through the experience, and have done some followup work to explore these things in myself. The program is very powerful, and touches on almost all of the aspects that you describe.
