Why I Stay Here on DS
I'm just sitting here alone in my room
So I looked at the people on DS
So many lives with so many issues
It's hard to truly grasp, I guess
Breakups and Divorce has so much sorrow
There's posts about tears every day
Then there's the lonely Depression Group
Who strive to just get through today
There's groups for those with Bi-polar
And groups with HPV
Groups who are dealing with suicide
And Groups with PTSD
So many people in all sorts of pain
Each searching for peace and relief
Some nearly destroyed by a word or deed
Pain and sorrow beyond belief
I write poems like this from time to time
Because I've been down bad roads in life
I've had heartache, hurt, and sadness
And almost killed by my wife
I left a terrible life behind
Back in nineteen seventy three
some who know me now on DS
Find it hard to believe that was me
I came here to lift up the fallen
To brighten the low of dark days
To let someone know there's someone who cares
And who'll be with them all the way
Some people don't understand me
They ask me "why do you care"?
I tell them because of where I have been
To let them know I've been there
I have thought many times of leaving
But my heart inside says no
So I stay here doing whatever I can
Let my genuine love truly show.

Yes, Pee Wee, there is too much pain in the world. This community serves a great purpose but will never match our communion with our Father. I hope you do continue to stay and give support to those who are plagued by the awfulness of this world. Oldbiker of sage spirit, you\'re the real deal. After having misery as a companion, I am starting to feel glimmers of peace, hope. I can get through. If you have been able to sobrevivir a life of trials and tribulations then I can get through this. You created a new and better life and offer us the sense there is a way to move on in life and make it better.
The gift of hope and encouragement you manage to give to so many here is immeasurable.
I know it must be draining on you sometimes to be reminded of the amount of sadness and misery around. I hope and pray there is some way that you too are nourished by some of the people here, so it is not just a drain on you.
This poem is beautiful, and your genuine love does really shine through!
