Why I'm Betting On "We The People"
Why the Individual we Must re-elect is "We The People"
It's the day following the election we have voted, and the votes have been counted. This morning I knew someone could be chosen president, people would be mad that their candidate didn't win and that things would eventually quiet down a bit. Today there won't be 1,000 political advertisements on television trying to sway my opinion, and there won't be politicians walking the streets, only a great deal of rhetoric on what occurred and why, and hopefully in a couple of days even that will calm down.
One thing which will not change though is this, today someone won't have food, someone will probably be homeless, there will be kids that are not safe, New Jersersians and New Yorkers will still be attempting to recuperate from Sandy, colleges will still have issues, there'll still be violence on our streets, and there'll still be individuals which are underemployed and unemployed.
The bottom line is when we the people do not show up the day after the election we are in big trouble. tiket is us who will really alter our nation around - great old "We The People", we could make the biggest impact in our communities our schools, and our families. We donate food, and money to let strangers and friends alike know that someone cares, and they aren't alone. It is city citizens and watch that care, who operate together with law enforcement and authorities, to make our neighborhoods safe. It's the small, medium and big business owners having the capability to employ people. We can lobby and call our politicians once we do not agree with what they're saying. We can work together with our politicians, to alter the policies which don't do the job, and those we don't like. It might not be easy, but it can be accomplished. We can come together to get what we desire we can visit our politicians in numbers and ask them to assist us draft bills (right today 11,970 bills and resolutions are now before Congress) that speak to the requirements within our communities and our countries, but it will take "We the People".
Now I hope we wake up and put our thinking caps, not to talk about the problems, but rather to work on solving these. Where can we have expertise, where can we function, how can we help? If each member of "We the People" asks themselves those questions today and searching for ways to come along for the benefit of everyone, what a fantastic and amazing future we'll be facing.
