Why I Don't Drink

When I was in rehab there was a guy that was married over 30 years (I've been married 44 years). His wife was dying of cancer. When in group I said christ if my wife dyed I'd go right back to drinking. I was chastised for saying that and for several other beliefs I have (atheist, and belief in the possibility of predetermination for example).
If my wife dyed I'd go back to drinking because I only quit for her. "Take care of yourself first." I said earlier I take care of everyone else first. This is still true for me. suum cuique- to each his own

Well I expect you\'ll not be successful in sobriety because its for you not for others you will stay sober

I slept and dreamt that life was joy.
I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

billwfriend, I\'ve heard that. If what you say is true, I am doomed.
