Why don't people go to the doctor?
If your child is having tics, why do you not go to the doctor?! In this day and age, so much more is known and there is help out there and support, especially for children and parents. Why wouldn't you go straight to the doctor instead of asking a bumuch of strangers what they think is wrong with your child? You obviously think something is amiss, so stop speculating and go! No one else can tell you what's wrong, anyway. You don't have to do what the doctor suggests, with respect to medications or heavy-handed treatments, but find out what you are dealing with and the sooner the better, so your child doesn't have to suffer longer than necessary. Plus, sometimes having a name to put to a behavior helps. It helped me when I had a reason for the strange things I did. A name to put to it made me feel better, even in a small way.
