WHO Points out that Innovative HIV Tests Should Expand Treatment Coverage
“The World Health Organization has issued new recommendations to help countries reach the 8.1 million people living with HIV who are yet to be diagnosed, and who are therefore unable to obtain lifesaving treatment,”—according to WHO press release on November 27, 2019.
By the end of 2018, there were 37.9 million people living with HIV globally. Among them, 79% have been diagnosed, 62% are under treatment and the HIV level of 53% have reduced, lowering the spread of HIV risk through sustained treatment. A horrifying figure shows that around 2/3 of the people infected with HIV are living in African area where other epidemics like Ebola, plague, dengue fever, malaria, and so on are prevalent as well.
“The HIV virus is evolving as new drugs develop, and we must find a method to detect it quickly,” said the Head of Creative Biolabs who has been dedicated to facilitating global medical researchers and medicine manufacturers in the field of recombinant antibody products, which are well designed and highly standardized to meet with every demand.
According to the different detection targets, HIV detection reagents can be roughly divided into: antibody/antigen detection reagents, nucleic acid detection reagents and HIV genotype drug resistance detection reagents, which can also be classified as HIV antibody rapid detection reagents, HIV self-test reagents, HIV antibody screening reagents, HIV antibody diagnostic reagents, HIV antibody confirmation reagents, etc., according to various characteristics, uses and performances. Among them, the antibody/antigen reagents are gaining more and more attention for their flash reaction in around 20 minutes.
As a leading CRO, Creative Biolabs possesses bank of antibody products targeting at various genes of HIV virus, including ACTR2, AFAP1, AFUA_4G11800, ASCC1, ASNA1, ATP9A, ATRX.
Specificities:
- All of the antibody products are designed to meet with every lab’s condition, applicable to various test like ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry,
- Catering to different experiment categories or purposes, there are several antibody isotypes to choose from, including but unlimited to Fab, IgG, IgG1, IgG2, IgG2a.
- The antibodies are delivered not only from rodent animals like mouse, rabbit, rat, but also coliand Human, which separately target at HIV variants, such as HIV-1 p24, HIV-1 V3 gp120, HIV-1 gp41.
- The majority of the HIV targeted products are served in form of antibody, but if antigen type is required by the researchers, there are also many types in stock to choose from.
AIDS, namely acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), is caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and characterized by the decrease of CD4 + T lymphocytes in the human body. Later stages of disease can be followed by various infections, malignant tumors and central nervous system diseases, with high mortality. For years in the medical area, medical researchers and pharmaceutical companies have made tremendous progress in the detection of HIV and treatment of AIDS, making contribution to human health. To advocate WHO’s recent recommendations, detecting HIV by innovative methods and reagents will usher in the climax through out the world in the near future.
