who needs familys...?
theres nothing quite like families for making you feel bad....think they know just which buttons to press to cut you.Ive had quite a bad year...but have come through it.....My older sister was very supportive whilst I was in hospital,so thought I would buy her a gift to say thankyou. But it really took the wind out of my sails when she thought it was some old thing a relative had given to me....saying alot of things had gone wrong in her life lately and thought the present which was a lovely paperweight with a beautiful rose in it.When I chose it carefully, not having much money but wanting to show her my gratitude, all the same.Recently her husband had a fall and broke his leg....and other odd things have happened so she claims...all my fault of course...I know sibling rivalry is well known, but in our case due to our parents dying early we have become closer as a family or so I thought.....My brother already blames me for my dads death, and Im sick and tired of being blamed for everything that goes wrong in someone elses life.Whats worse is our family is supposed to be christians but wouldnm't guess it but the way my brother treats me and my sister who raised him.while we were just 15 and 18....don't want him to bow down to us...just treat me with some respect and love would be nice.I nearly died this year...and thought things had turned a corner,as my brother suddenly was all sweetness and light, but the moment I started to recover, the niceness stopped.Just shows you how false sympathy is...Anyway....I just knew someone would burst my bubble...but never expected it to come from my oldest sister, which has huet me,but I will try to get passed this as she has lost a son,and had some very bad times. All families go through things like this,I knowand while we can't all live like The Waltons' it would be nice to have some harmony at times.

Bluejeanz, my heart goes out to you. cutting remarks coming from your immediate family are the worst. My mother was a master at saying cruel things to me and she was allegedly a good catholic. She would do everything possible to cut me down in front of every relative I owned. I ended most famly outings in tears from my mother tearing me up through the whole holiday. I\'ll tell you what I did that worked for me. I don\'t know if it will work for you. For near two years, I simply had no contact with my mother. If she called I said a few words and passed the phone to hubby, who well understood my problems with her(and was not real pleased with the way she treated our kids on occasion). For me it worked. Mom got the message that I would not put up with her petty mean behavior. I know a lot of people who have told me they couldn\'t do that to the relative who was making them crazy, but for me it worked. and I had reached the point where my mental health demanded that I put distance between myself and my mother. Good luck and don\'t hesitate to scream. the friendly ears that you can scream to are vital to dealing with insensitive, unkind relatives
thanks for your reply it did help alot and yes you are quite right to put a stop to being treated like this.
I have a brother who treats me like dirt, despite me help raise him due to my mum dying when I was 18.
Time to move on,but its not easy is it?
Often I find the cruelest people are those who claim to be christians,[though not every case is the same]
anyway I see you have diabetes so you will know the problems with that on top of everything else.
maybe we could compare notes as I also notice you are on the byetta pen too.
