Who needs a stethoscope with this iPhone app?

Earlier it was reported that Apple had filed a patent application that would allow monitoring and even killing jailbroken iDevices. It even included heartbeat monitoring, which we thought was a ways off. Apparently, it's not as there's an app in the App Store that already does that."Everybody is very excited about the potential of the adoption of mobile phone technology into the medical workplace, and rightly so. Smartphones are incredibly powerful devices packed full of sensors, cameras, high-quality microphones with amazing displays."This sort of technology is all good, as long as it's not done in secret, as with the Apple patent filing. In that case, a user's heartbeat (and more) could be monitored without his knowledge.
