Where Is Peace?

I wrote this after having the breakdown and then being diagnosed with Hep C. Where is Peace? I searched for peaceeverywherebut could not find it. I looked for peacein the faces of peoplebut could not see it. I listened for peacein the words of othersbut could not hear it. I fought for peacein my life, yetit did not come. I shouted for peacefrom the mountainsit echoed back at me. I walked for peaceand ran,it was faster than I. I cried for peacewept for itmy tears ran dry. I drank for peaceand laughed with othersbut awoke without it. Where is peaceI cried to GodWhere is it He replied, In Memy childIn Me. Diana BabcockMarch, 2003
