Where is our son?
Received a message from a dear friend today. All communication has been cut off with ES but she is still on FB as friends with us. He wrote something like "I'll trust my non-Christian friends and never my so called Christian friends. They are true not fakes. Then he stated the story of Richard Pryor? Richard Pryor as his example of how not to live a Christian life? How can some one go so far from the way he was raised with Christian beliefs, values and morals? We tried and thought for sure we instilled these values but evidently the GF, her family and friends have much more influence. GF is very jealous of us although we have only ever been friendly and inviting to her.. God, be my strength and help. All I can do is pray and ask God to take this - it's so hard to totally turn over but the only thing I can do

Remember we are to love God first, our spouse second and our children third. God is truly in control and he hears our prayers. But as humans we want change now. I know my husband and I did when waiting for our ES to return. It took 7 years and my husband being diagnosed with kidney cancer for our ES to return.
Dear missing. My heart breaks to hear your story. I too will be praying specifically for your son and grandchildren. I have been traveling this road of estrangement for nearly 4 years now, 3 with almost total blocking from my ED. Today is our birthday. I am 53, she is 22. We are communicating now but it is still tough as she is not the loving child i raised and knew. These spouses/significant others have an amazing stranglehold over our children. My daughter\'s husband has systematically transformed her into a projection of himself. It\'s what they do, narcissists. I wish i could tell you it gets better, but I can\'t. I will tell you something I needed to hear; that you need to look after your health. Mine deteriorated substantially to the point that I had undiagnoseable illnesses that included constant shortness of breath, swelling, heart palpitations, stiffened joints, vertigo etc. to the point that I moved overseas to distance myself from my ED and all the memories. It was that move that prompted her to finally break her silence the night before we left thanks to one friend that we had left in common who informed her of our move. Our physical health is so connected to our emotions. i know it must be so hard with your son being your only child and having suffered so much loss already, but stay healthy for your own sake, the sake of your DH and to triumph over the evil one who is out to destroy you. Job was attacked first emotionally with his great loss, but then physically. Stay strong in the Lord friend. Do not lose hope. Be encouraged that God is on your side and hears your prayers. God bless you with peace today.
