Where Did Everyone Go?
Monday, November 30, 2009 - 1:35 PM Something funny, or so I thought, has been happening around here for nearly a week. During this time, I have not been receiving any of the Daily Strength updates, which I usually receive almost every day. It seems as though something suspicious was going on here. Today, I decided to put on my detectives hat and go looking through the woodwork to see what was wrong. After skulking around a bit, I found the missing e-mail in a place where I would never have put it before reading it, and not even then. It was in the "junk" folder, along with some other e-mail that had also been missing. MSN had better solve their old problems before taking on Windows 7! I saw one of my nieces, her husband, and their six-year-old son Saturday. It was a pleasant, and rare, visit from them. I am not sure what made them decide to come by, but I had a good time. They are going to give me a live Christmas tree, and bring it down, along with my brother in a few weeks. Because my personal care provider is allergic to pine trees, they're going to have to get another kind of tree. That has caused a temporary stumbling block, but I'm sure it can be easily overcome. On Thursday, I have an appointment with my primary care physician. It is a follow-up to my visit with him last month. At that time, I had some skin breakdowns. With the guidance of my doctor's nurse, new dressings have been put on the affected areas every three days since then. My home healthcare nurse has been seeing me on a regular basis. The amount of back pain I've been having is fluctuating between good and bad. When I got up this morning, there was no pain at all. I have not felt that good in more than a year. After I had been up and moving around for a couple of hours, the pain returned and hit me with a vengeance. For some unknown reason, my right foot and leg has become swollen during the past week. When I go to bed at night, I make sure that it is propped up on pillows in order to help reduce the swelling. Wednesday afternoon, I am going to see Dr. Martin again. After our conversation last week, I am not looking forward to my session with her at all.
