When will things get better?

I went to the doctor today and he did an echocardiograph of my heart.  It hasn't gotten any worse.  My legs are still red and blistered from edema and are wrapped up in compression bandages.  The nurse said I should stay home with my legs up but I'm alone and can't stay off of my feet.  I don't like to be home because no one is there are my mom's things are there.  They are trying to get disability for me, I was laid off my job last week.  I'm trying not to panic.  I hope I make it through this..
