When will it feel normal

Its been 3 months and it still feels like yesterday since I lost my husband, Rick.  I spent over half my life with him and it seems like the grief is getting worse instead of better.  I don't know if its because its been rainy and gloomy outside like it was the day he passed or if this is normal.  I try to hide my tears from my daughter.  She seems to be handling this better than I am.  Seriously don't know what I'd do right now without her.

Thee numbness is beginning to wear off and the reality is that this is not a bad dream. This grief comes in waves strong at first and relentless. I have been here as a community leader to offer any help you may have. Sharon

Thank you Sharon for your friendship and support. I think my biggest hurdle is knowing that there are so many memories in this house. My daughter and I are getting ready to put the house up for sale and find a rental, hopefully with a pool for her. There\'s too much of an emotional attachment to this house. We put the contract on it 24 years ago this coming Monday and closed on it an hour before our wedding rehearsal. It\'ll be easier to deal with everything without the emotional attachment or at least I hope so.

Nancy the feeling you have now are temporary. Please if you can maybe just change room arrangement or colors that will hep. I am almost at 2 years, yes at first the memories hurt because the loss is so new. But I have to leave my home that my husband and I made ours. The pain of also losing all the sweet memories of him is pretty hard. This is a very big decision on your part, and unless there is a payment too big to afford, I would suggest this be set aside. The wave you are in is as Sharon describes, it is not the house, but the heart catching up to the reality now of his passing. It hurts like crazy, but it changes later as the sweeter memories start sneaking in. Also the comfort of history with you and him is found in the corners of you home, a safety spot. Raising your daughter takes so much along with your own grief, her grief and all the loose ends of a husband passing. It can cause you to misjudge things, that is why it\'s better to wait on big things like this for a year... So you can really concentrate on it for your and your daughter best advantage. There are some that choose to target widows in grief, convincing leaving is more important than the money you deserve for the house. Wolves and vultures start coming out of people , they know that while you are not yet in acceptance is to their advantage.
My heart Jewells.
