I had the last set of shots in my back last week and the pain has not gone away since. Matter of fact it actually is worse than when I went in to get the shots. I was so hoping that the last set of shots was going to work and I wouldn't need anything else done. Boy was I wrong. Well I called and talked to the doctor today about it because I haven't been able to sleep because despite the pain meds that I have been taking its not working and with a small child at home there is only so much pain meds I dare take. I need to be able to hear and be awake when my child is awake. I have been sick to my stomach for what seems like weeks now and after visiting with my pcp today I have since been taken off a med that we believe was making me sick. It will take a week or so to get out of my system and then I should be feeling better. I am scheduled to have what is called a radio-frequency ablation on my back in a week. This procedure will entail them killing the nerve endings in the L4, L5 and S4 (I believe) of my spine. It's supposed to take the pain that emanates from those areas away. The down side to this procedure is that for 24 - 48 hours I need to stay down only getting up to use the bathroom. Then for the next 48 hours it is small stuff like light cooking, etc. Exercise is out of the picture for about a week.
