When does it end?

This past week has been emotional to say the least.  Both highs and lows.

We celebrated the twins' 5th birthday twice!  Once at a restaurant and next with the extended family and friends.  The girls had a ball!  They can practically stock a toy store.

David's family from the West flew in all week for the celebration of life today.  David has 4 siblings - 3 sisters and a brother.  I come from a small, quiet family so the hubbub was a bit much.   Instead of a funeral, they just had a viewing and then a get together at someone's home.  I got through the viewing fine but got a fit of anxiety at the get together - the house was big but the group was bigger.   I was getting claustrophobic so Cevyn called an Uber and I came home.  Actually to Cevyn's - I am staying here for awhile.  It is hard for her as David took his life here.

Cevyn was great with the girls.  They know that Uncle David is in heaven but they decided they would pretend he was here and played an imagination game of "What is Uncle Davey doing now?"  e.g. eating a big bowl of cereal with milk, playing video games etc.

So that was emotional.  Then it occurred to me that I hadn't told my family in Thunder Bay.  I called my niece to find out how her daughter was doing with the chemo for lung cancer.  She said "Not good.  It is worse than they thought".  She also told me that her 2 brothers and a sister all had Covid.  They were all vaccinated so didn't wind up in ICU.  Also, the nephew that has been angry with me for years is in the hospital.  It took EMS and the police to convince him to go to Emergency.  I guess he is septic and was delerious.  He didn't recognize his brother who literally lives next door.

Joe is enroute back home.  He is having cataract surgery on Monday so couldn't stay.  I am waiting to hear from him.

The twins are with their dad and grandparents for the weekend so I will have some decompression time.  I just don't want any more bad news!!

I am so sorry Marlene...so much happiness coupled with tragedy at the same time...I can understand your anxiety level.
Sending good vibes for Joe's surgery.
I loved seeing all of the great pictures on Facebook...the girls are getting so big! They are my grand-daughter, Demi's age. Such a fun age.
Gentle care & breathe deep,

Oh my... No answers... as we know... many times there are no answers, Will Andrew help get Joe to and from the doctor for his surgery or will he have to get a cab? Dumb to ask... I'm sure you all have plans well in hand... Praying for all for a bit of normalcy sooner the better. Hugs and Prayers. Elissa and Richard
