Whatever It Takes, For As Long As It Takes

My motto.....this is the motto that has gotten me through some tough challenges in the past.  Now I need to rethink what I am currently doing in my life challenges today....I have goals...some of which are solid, and some of which are in the weenie whiney gee I should work on this someday stage.... So....for the next few days....I'm going to sit down with myself....and look at where I am financially, emotionally, physically....and in relation to my family and dearest friends.....and take inventory.   Then....time for asking myself what needs to be done....and finding out what I am willing to do.  Willingness is always the key, is it not??? I may know what I "need" to do, but what if I'm not willing to really do it?A large part of feeling "helpless" to solve certain things is simply me not being honest enough with myself to admit I'm just not willing to do what it takes to solve those things. So, if I'm not willing to do what it takes....I need to just own up to that...and get on with whatever I AM willing to do.... However, in one area....which is gambling........I AM willing to do Whatever it takes, for as long as it takes.....to recover from the devastation of gambling in my life. Hope today is a great day for all of my beloved friends out there....wishing you all strength, hope, and joy today......xoxoxo   Dianne

I\'m with you girl. I\'m have also said whatever it takes. My many times of quitting before have all failed. Now I know I can make it and reading stories like your\'s has certainly helped and given me hope.
Thanks!!!!

I\'m right there with ya, doing \'whatever it takes\'! Sometimes it would just be easier to sit back and let it take its course, but unless we actively do it, it really doesn\'t get done....here we are together, doing whatever it takes, one day at a time.

Great thoughts Dianne. Taking inventory is hard isn\'t it? Looking at the past again - but the most important thing is planning today. Just for today I will not gamble. Hugs to you my friend. Suzi

Yes, reading your je makes me think about taking a long hard look in the mirror and evaluate my life and my thoughts. If I don\'t nothing changes if nothing changes. No thoughts or urges just wanting a better life for me and my loved ones. Thanks for always being so honest with us and yourself.

I know when I\'m not doing my best. Deep down inside I know. Maybe it has to do with willingness...? Good JE :) Made me think ;) Love you, Robin

Sounds like a good plan to me.... Just like I say, I can do what I can do, then go from there. One day and one problem at a time. Peace and Love. Patty

I love your attitude, honest , straightforward, identify it, deal with it. I too have issues I need to deal with, other than gambling, but it is a slow process. Sometimes you just have to choose which battles you are willing to fight, the rest have to wait until you are ready. Love and hugs
