What To Say, Where To Begin
Wow, where do I begin without rambling senselessly.
I'm battling one whopper of a cold, it will be one week tomorrow. The coughing has been the worst. It's been the type of cough where it's dry & sometimes I almost cough till I gag and/or choke. I haven't been to my GP but I can't see any point in him telling me I've got a spring cold & it has to run it's course. One heck of a squeaky voice too. I just don't know.
My rheumy has reduced my prednisone down to 10mg. I'm still on the methotrexate. But whats putting a twist in this is that since I've had this bug my lupus vasculitis rash is showing it's ugly head, fairly mild, but still showing it's ugly head. I truly do wonder if it's maybe just because of the cold. I just don't know.
Hubby and I had to go to the cancer clinic for his regular prostate check up. His PSA is back up to 10. He had his brachy therapy in Dec 2009. After that his PSA had gone down to 1 then it was up to 5 & now 10. I've a feeling the dr was a bit puzzled abt it as he stated that my hubby had had a top high range treatment or something similar to that. Anyway, now we have to go thru the biopsy again, which, OK take a deep breath Pat, to confirm actual cancer, then I think he said something abt hormone therapy and/or ?????????????where to go from that point I guess.
I don't know what to say to him. I could tell I think he's pissed off, angry, etc. etc. etc. He made a comment like "I thought that treatment was the sure fire thing". I know we need or shd talk but I've no idea how to begin or what to say. Again, I just don't know. LOL.......talk abt stress for my shaky lupus!!!
Why do I feel like crying or screaming or whatever right now. Me, of I thought good faith, solid, grounded, ready to walk bravely etc. etc. etc..............well so much for all of that, at least right at this moment in time.
Anywho, I guess getting these words down in print has got to be a good thing.
Thanks, my friends, for taking time to read this.

Prayers are sent to your hubby and you. I\'m sure it\'s just a hiccup. Have the PSA done again in a week or 2. When does he have the biopsy done? I know you are disappointed on the out come but you have to stay strong for him. He\'s lashing out right now and angry. That\'s normal. Just be there for him.
More prayers for you two. Hugs Nance
I\'m so sorry to hear that. Yes, the stress isn\'t helpful to you, so why not pray about it, leave it with God and try to relax. After all, you can\'t change his test results all on your own, but you can pray for healing and guidance right? Hubby go through this before and got his number down to 1 before, right? Maybe they just need to go at this from a different angle. You both have a right to be upset, being there in the thick of it and all, I just hate to see you stay that way for very long.
FWIW, I had a lupus rash incident recently too and I never get them. To me, it\'s just a sign that the body is \"angry\" underneath and it will pass but mine didn\'t really itch or anything. Still, if the rash is driving you NUTS, than that is a different matter. But I have the belief & hope that this will pass quickly for you. And for hubby. Let\'s hope it\'s just a fluke like Nance said, but, if not, I believe God has your back on this. I will pray too! love ya, m
Crap.... getting here a few days late.... feeling better? I also think this is one of those MANY hiccups we have in our relationships.... Moods, hormones, all that stuffs.... sometimes I wonder how 2 people can actually live together for so many years. Takes work, tons of work but hopefully in the end, it\'s all worth it. Men-opause.... don\'t forget that, k? xo
Oh boy, Pat I am sorry to read this. I am late getting here and I apologize for that too. I will be praying for Mel. Please give him a big hug from me. Tell him he is in my prayers. I hope by now that rash is better or gone We will pray you and Mel to both get healthy and stay that way... Love n hugs always your sister, Frieda xoxoxoxo
