What they don't tell you

They say physical activity lessens the discomfort of RA. What they don't tell you is that it may only lessen the discomfort in some joints (for me that's my hips and knees) and the rest of you still may be in agony. They also don't tell you that if you push yourself a lot that you may be worse off the next day. Everything I've read about RA compares that aspect to OA. OA pain in the affected joints worsens when you use it and pushing yourself can definitely make it worse. They imply that  is  not the case with RA, or sometimes outright say that's not the case with RA. But every time I've had occasion to really push myself- a longer workout, an entire day spent on my feet, a lot of walking/running, etc.- I always feel doubly bad the next day when I wake up. And I've read comments by other RA sufferers that say they have the same problem. The people who write those things really need to spend more time talking to people with RA.
