What the Psychic Said
Yesterday I wrote on the discussion board about a time I went for a reading with a Medium. One of my main reasons for wanting an "outsider" to make contact with Ron was because about two days before his physical body died my Ron died. Maybe it was the brain cancer, eating away so much of who he was, but I have never felt his presence, and I consider myself quite intune with my surroundings and definitely connected with him.
It was a very anxious appointment and I was so skeptical that I kept all my answers to either yes or no, so as not to give away any clues. I beleive the Medium believes that she sees ghosts, I do not beleive she saw or talked to Ron that evening. That however did not keep me from falling apart at the mere mention that he was "there".
We have two children, grown now, our son was 16 when Ron died, our daughter just shy of her 21st birthday. From the moment of diagnosis our boy and I had an agreement that I would tell him everything that was happening no matter how hard. Our daughter, though, began to distance herself from the pain of what we were all going through and the inevitable loss of her father. I was in the trenches with his illness and didn't have time to throw her a life line. Subsequently at the loss of her dad she has embraced the "anger" phase of grieving, choosing to not move on from that stage. I've offered counseling, urged her to go, but she refuses.
So I wasn't too surprised that the only message the Medium had for me was from Ron to his daughter. She said he keeps repeating over and over again "My daughter, my daughter". She elaborated that he was concerned for her, she was not dealing with his death and he was afraid that if WE don't fix this, the family which we had built would be fractured forever.
What this appointment accomplished was it opened up a dialog between all of us. I texted our girl and said I have a message for you from your dad. She replied What? I said I will tell you when I get home. We cried, talked, held each other and she agreed she would be willing to go for help with her grief. Since that time I have watched her help two very close friends find their way through the cancer journey of one of their parents. Things are better, not great, but better and yes, I'd go again, the need to know he's still somewhere is very very strong. Lori
