What's new in my world :)
Hello my sweet, dear friends...how are you?
I'm taking a gray, rainy, ever more peaceful Sunday to update you all on the past week of my life...a lot has been going on, mostly inwardly.
Church was good today, it challenged me to let myself care about others, and make a sacrifice for them. I guess for right now, that will have to begin with my family. I may not be able to do a lot, but I know that I need to do what I can.
I missed out on the opportunity to do the 12 step Celebrate Recovery program at my church this time around, as the group is closed now-but I do plan on (I WILL) faithfully attend the Sunday night open share groups, so that I can have a whole group of awesome ladies with which to bounce off my feelings, and ideas on how to become more whole in Christ. I know they will listen, and not judge me, and this will be a good excercise in trust for me. I will gladly listen to them too. It will be good, not to feel so alone anymore.
Since starting school, I have had several divine appointments to speak into others lives about my faith in Christ-one, the chance to pray for one gal's healing-two, the opportunity to talk with a Jehovah's Witness lady about our faith in Christ (I need to learn more about what they believe, to determine whether or not they are walking in the truth)-and three, the chance to email my class instructor, and tell her that I will pray for mom's healing from cancer, and peace for her and her family.
My instuctor once wanted to be a missionary, but now (I believe) ascribes to the idea that all religions are facets of truth that make up one truth, and is reading the Koran.
I decided to do the associates of fine arts in writing program...so as not to pin myself into a corner, where I necessarily need a bachelor's degree. I know that the Lord has given me a great opportunity to get a wonderful education at the two year level, and it would be silly not to go for it!! As for where I will live, or what I will do after I graduate (work first, then college-or just work)...I will have to take that on faith, as I should with everything in my life.
I've been having a great time hanging out with my grandma-watching movies, our daily little routines, having heart to hearts, and a lot of laughs. :) I now realize that despite the ups and downs you always have when you live with someone, that we don't need a big trip together to have fun, or make special memories :)
Speaking of trips...I was thinking that Karla and I might take a weekend, and spend it in Seattle, just as if we were seeing it for the first time like tourists :) I hope we do it, I think it'd be fun.
Tommorow's the cardiologist, to talk about the results of my heart echo-but to take the sting out of that, will be some catching up with my mom at Starbucks. :))))
Well, that's what's new! Oh, by the way, class is interesting and going well. The subject of Turners's Sydrome even came up on Friday, and I was able to talk to the class about it for a minute. It was freeing-I hope a step in beating my denial on the subject. :)
Talk to you's all later, I love you all! Thanks to new friend's Kirsten and Chris for being so kind and truly good to me.
God bless you! J :)
