what's next

ugh!  As if things weren't bad enough with my health, my work has to be a royal pain in the ass too!  I work with people on welfare to help them become employable. I carry a caseload of people that I work with one on one.  I also volunteered to teach some classes about a year ago as the classes we offered were really not getting to people.  So, I took on an extra role and started to teach these classes.  They really seemed to get to people and the client's were enjoying them.   Since my health has gone downhill, one of my co-workers is out to sabotage my job.  She has been a major source of stress for me.  At any rate, the things she has pulled have not made things any easier for me. She complains about how I operate my classes and any little thing she can find to try and get me in trouble.  At that point, I decided to take that ball out of her court. I had my doc write me an excuse to no longer teach classes due to my health.  Well, that just seems to have made the supervisor angry because now she has to change things around. Instead of dealing with this person, she just lets her get away with her complaints and nit pick about things.  Well, I turned the tables the last time and made my own nit picky complaint about the other co-worker and was chastised for it. I was told to let my supervisor handle things that don't concern me. I "need to concentrate on getting my participation rate among other things!"  WOW!  So, I am just fed up!  Well, that is interesting.  Supervisor certainly caters to this co-worker and all the nit picking she does about me does not concern her....
I hate my job and really just want something else. I feel trapped because with my health the way it is, I am not sure that I could keep a job because of all the sick time that I use.  My health just gets worse because of the stress I feel here at work....UGH! what to do! It is all a vicious circle!

I\'m sorry you had a bad day at work. Sounds like your co-worker is an ass.

First let me say how sorry I am that you are going through this. Funny thing is I am one of the clients myself for welfare, but not because I want to be on it, but because I\'m waiting to get my SSI, since I can no longer work due to my illness as well. I really hope things get better for you. I agree that the co worker sounds like an ass, as well as your boss always taking up for your co worker, especially with what you\'re dealing with, with having this illness.

So sorry to hear about your work situation. Stress because of work is last thing you need with MS and colleagues/bosses who fail to understand are terrible. When I was working, as a journalist, most of the people that I had to deal with tried to accept my inability to work the same hours as them. But there were a few isolated cases of people who seemed to take perverse pleasure in increasing their demands. I do hope that this is resolved in some way short of you being forced to quit all together. Is there any worker\'s rights in Colorado, especially for people with a disability like MS? Over here in the UK, the way you are being treated would be illegal.

Lots of love, light and prayers.

thank you all for your thoughts. I have tried legally thru EEOC to get something done about my co-workers. They told me they only take cases that involve sexual harrassment or racial discrimination. I don\'t understand it at all! I have looked into the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) but they suggest going thru the EEOC if I have discrimination issues.
