What really matters
Today is Thanksgiving. Everywhere I look I see people posting about what they are thankful for today. There are many things that I could say that I am thankful for. But today I want to express that I am truly thankful to be alive. In six days it will have been four months since I was in the accident with Joey. According to everyone at the hospital and the cops and ambulance personal who showed up on the scene we should not have survived the accident. The way the truck was hit the gas tank should have exploded. No one is sure why it did not. If it had, none of us that were involved would be here today to even be thankful for anything. So I just want to express that I am truly thankful for my life, and the second chance to live it. I may have screwed up in my past, but because of the accident, I have realized what is really important in life. It is not the material things like most people seem to think. It is the bonds you create with one another, it is the chance to be yourself, it is having the ability to make a difference in this world. Today I want to say I am thankful for this second chance to get things right. No longer will I value material things the way most do. Instead I will value the truly valuable things, my friends, family, and the chance to have amazing relationships with these people.
