What life has been like....

So, we left for upstate NY on Friday to go to my DH's brother's 40th b-day.  I really like my inlaws; adore my mom and dad inlaw most of all!!  Anyway....  there were about 15 of us staying at my brother and sister inlaw's house.  Very fun party people.  Well.... we get there late Friday night, and of course I just want to be home.  Not in the mood for celebration.  We are all talking and then a close friend of the family announces hesitantly that she is pregnant!  The thing is, her and her husband are having major issues right now and they DO NOT want another child.  So I smile (she's a very sweet woman who I am very fond of!), and offer all that goes with it.  The next day a few of us go bowling and while talking with one of his family members, I find out that she too has been ttc for the same amount of time we have!  She's in her twenties, so thank goodness for her time is on her side!  But we were atleast able to offer each other empathy and advice.  That made all the difference!  Her and her DH are bright, outgoing, down-to-earth people.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them!! And hoping her and I can share a BFP together this year!! Let's see... what else.... Oh, I was offered another bartending job at a ski area just a few miles from our home.  I was talking to a co-worker at my full-time day job about it and she talked me out of it!  Her first reaction was to remind me that I need to stay relaxed, slow down, and focus my energies on having a baby!  The very next day my accupuncturist said that women who have early poor ovary reserve are usually  on the go, type A, unable to sit down kind of women.  I'm not type A (kinda), but I certainly don't sit still.  So I talked with my DH and he said he'd rather have me home anyway, because he misses me (Awwwww... I love him so much!!!), likes having a nice meal ready (okay, so the truth comes out!  it's the food, not just me he misses!! LOL!), and he definitely agreed that I should be slowing down.  It's hard for me, because although i love my job and what I do, I'm not making much money at it and I can't contribute equally to the house hold.  He has a very good job, (and insurance thank goodness!), and purchased his home before we met; he has always managed on his income alone.  Mine is a bonus.  Don't get me wrong, I do contribute.  I just grew up with a mother who was a die-hard feminist and taught us to be financially independent.  (She had some anger issues after an ugly divorce).  I've had to learn to accept help, and how to live in a mutually nurturing partnership with my best friend, my husband.  So, I'll be working just 35 - 40hrs per week, and quiting my other bartending job on Fridays.... soon.    Had a cd10 u/s this morning.  3 follies on one side, 4 on the other.  Getting injectables on Wednesday morning in the mail.  Accupunture appt. that afternoon.  u/s Thursday morning to see if follies are ready, and if so they are going to show me how to administer the injectable (HCG?).  Plan is IUI on Saturday.  We really want to move on to IVF, but first all the doctors and nurses have to be back from vacations so we can get this process moving!!!  I am unbelieveably stressed about this!!  I keep reminding myself to "let it go!".  To relax and focus on those things I do have control over, but am neglecting.  I put on too much cushion after that last BFN.  I had a revelation that I think I am stuffing myself to feel full and have a round belly as if I was pregnant.  Chocolate is definitely all about pleasure and comfort though! :) I've cut back on coffee to about 2oz with black tea in the morning for the past 3 days.  Tomorrow will be the first day with only green tea!  And only one!  Trying to survive the DT's from caffine withdrawal.   Wish me luck!!!  I will succeed!!   I'm feeling better since the BFN.  That first week is always hellish with the hormones raging!   Here's to seeing some more BFPs posted on DS!!!
