What is Verbal Abuse?

I am wondering what is verbal abuse?

Insults? Cursing/Swearing at the Victim?

I've been called stupid and idiot by my parents. I've been told by brother that no cares, four eyes and the sort. And they expect me not do have any emotional reaction to it. And if I do, they say sorry and obviously don't mean it, and just continue doing it. I then go to school to be called short for most of the day for 5 years now. My grandparents tell me just to listen to my family but I don't see a difference besides different insults. During one school year, I was sucking at math and asked my dad for help each night. If I didn't understand it right away, he would yell at me until I did.

I bet a lot of people have experienced a lot worse, but verbal abuse is bad in way, shape, or form; and needs to be stopped right away. I hope this helps people understand kids/teens life is not filled with love from their parents that get them what they want 24/7
