what is the point?
I wonder what the whole point of going to see diabetic consultants when they don't even acknowledge the progress I have made.Since leaving hospital end of July for metformin poisoning I have lost 4 and a half stones in weight.......(66 pounds)...which was no mean feat..!!I really struggled to lose that amount and the very least I would have liked was a small pat on the back....but no...the consultant insulted me with the wrong information and I insisted he weigh me on the proper scales which revealed a huge weight loss for me.On top of this he was due to give me the lon awaited results of my eco-cardiogram (heart test)...which 4 months ago was promised the results would be revealed to me,but no....the record was nowhere to be seen...he did say that if something was wrong I would have been told by now...but that doesn't help me.I feel so dissappointed and let down.....even though I know thats its better to lose weight for myself than for someone else....I just wanted to show that smug face sexist consultant that I could do it....It make me mad when everyday you hear all types of warnings are given to get weight off,but very little encouragement is given when anyone does do well. What I mustn't do now is to give up...which is exactly what I feel like doing....but Ive come too far to let all my hard work go like that.So come 6 months time I WILL show the smug git just what this lady is capable of...no thanks to him or any of the so called professionals.Having ranted on about all of the above I feel I must report my blood sugar average is good,my cholestrol is good, blood pressure good, potassium levels normal.I could hold back the tears coming out of the clinic......I feel dreadful right now my cloud nine has got a big hole in it now.

I have a disease where it is painful to eat and I had lost 30 pounds from not eating when I had seen this new doc and I told him this. He said to me, \"Well, you are obviously eating something!\". I still had weight to lose because I had just had a baby and I had gained 60 pounds so I said that but I was floored and so were the nurses in the room. I had already been diagnosed with my disease but I was there because I wanted to know about nerve blocks. This doctor made me wait and was rude and was a waste of my hard earned cash. HE was a jerk and it sounds like the guy you interacted with was too. Let it go with this guy and you know you need to. I bet you have had other issues with your weight like I have and there have been other people that have given you a hard time about your weight? I am sorry to say this but you really do sound hurt. Don\'t worry about that guy PLEASE because there are people here that really are PROUD as heck of you for losing the weight because I know it is really hard and I know it is hard having diabetes so you get 2 stars woman! Perhaps these people at work had their pay cut because of the economy and they are just being rude because they are unhappy or there might be other reasons but I am certainly not saying they had a right to be rude to you. I am just saying not to take it personally and not to let it wreck your cloud nine. Your reality is how you see it and boy I am envious of your weight loss journey so you are a hero in my book! Don\'t give up please! And keep on trucking because the hardest thing with weight loss is keeping the weight off too. So don\'t let your spirits die down now from some little twirp in a medical outfit. You rock sista! So there! That is my 2 cents for the day and more! You must have gone down a few sizes in \"blue jeans\"? Must feel great! XOXOX Love, Holliday
