What I've been doing with my
Well, since last I wrote, I had my appointment with Social Security to apply for survivors benefits. That went pretty well until I was told to read and sign the paperwork. When I got to their wording about "the marriage ended in death" it was hard because I don't feel my marriage has really ended. Maybe suspended is a better word...until we meet again. Of course I know what the government was saying, but it still stung.
At the moment I feel pretty OK. There are still so many things to be done and it's still a little hard to make myself do them, but it's getting better. But with spring coming and so much needing doing outside while there's still so much to do inside, I'm feeling swamped. But, from experience in different situations, I know that all one can do is to do one thing at a time and then go to the next. Yesterday, though, I caught myself starting one task, seeing another, dropping the first, beginning the second, only to stop and try to do a third. All in about 5 minutes. Obviously looney. And I find it exceptionally difficult to prioritize right now. Hope that gets better. Sometimes, though, I'll do something low priority which I like, to bribe myself to do a job I really don't like. It's better to do something than nothing.
This week the lawyer and I go to the courthouse to file the will. He says it's no big deal. Hope it isn't and doesn't bring me to tears. I'm tired of being wet faced.
Well, I'd better get moving. I lost the morning due to visitors and now have more work to do. Still, it was nice to have a change from talking to the dog.
