What happens now?

Update my boyfriend has been in for 7 months now. he has pre trial on Nov 28th they told him he is looking at 25 to life he has 2 charges sexual assault with a  minor  she was 16. (Concetual  sex) and indecency with a child... what can happen a pre trial ??
