what does the future hold?
i hate to wish away the days, rushing what little future i have left, but since we signed a contract to buy a house in the STL area, i am anxiously awaiting the day that we take possesion.
it will no doubt be the last house i live in, but while my health holds, i have great hope to do the things necessary in order for it to be our home. while all it takes to make a house are building materials, it requires much more in order for a building to become a home.
our home this time may have the echoes of the voices of little ones, it will not hold the day to day memories of our children as they face the world. this time the memories will be constrained to our final days as a couple. the walls will for the most part, only hear the two of us, occasional visitors will seem like strangers to them rather than a part of them.
but in spite of this, i am excited. i am looking forward to moving, in spite of what we leave behind. there will be new challenges. there will be the task of learning where stores are, which roads to drive, what church to attend, and of course most of all, neighbors.
