What Does It Mean To Long For Something?

What  does  it  mean  for  somebody  to  long  for  something?    Paul  uses  that  word  a  few  times.    It's  a  very  strong  word  and  indicates  a  deep  desire.    So,  I  ask,  what  do  we  long  for?    I  sincerely  believe  a  strong  and  growing  believer  has  a  deep  longing  that  comes  from  God.    God  works  on  their  heart  and  what  a  longing  presents  is  a  passion  to  achieve  a  result  that  will  please  Him. I  might  sound  like  a  broken  record  when  I  describe  a  desire  the  Lord  has  placed  on  my  hearts  for  the  Peruvian  people.    However,  I  really  don't  care  because  I'm  going  to  mention  this  longing  again  and  again  because  I  feel  the  Lord  wants  me  to  direct  this  message  so  it  can  help  drive  home  my  point  to  fellow  Christians  who  have  longings  for  various  ministries.    In  the  United  States,  we  desperately  need  this  longing  which  brings  about  passion  which  brings  about  production.    We  need  to  pray  and  ask  the  Lord  to  bring  a  longing  to  Christian's  hearts  and  for  Him  to  use  massive  amounts  of  Christians  to  reach  out  toward  one  another  and  to  unbelievers. Well,  I  long  to  go  to  Peru  and  to  reach  others  for  Christ.    I  often  pray  about  it.    So,  right  now,  I'm  checking  on  the  internet  and  doing  my  research.    Most  importantly,  I'm  letting  the  Lord  direct  my  path. I  love  you  all  and  PLEASE  don't  be  afraid  of  the  feeling  of  longing.    Turn  to  the  Lord  and  let  Him  direct  your  way.    God  bless.
