The pregnancy test is done in order to find out whether a woman has conceived or not. When a woman gets pregnant there is the special hormone called HCG which is released in the blood along in the urine. The pregnancy test is used to detect this hormone HCG and confirms the pregnancy of the woman. Hormone length is proportional to pregnancy length. It will state the level of pregnancy along with the level of hormone present in the urine and blood.

The woman will come across with different types of pregnancy tests that will confirm about their pregnancy. Woman mostly preferred to go for the pregnancy test when they have missed their periods at least after one week. It would be better for them to move for pregnancy test after 15 days when the periods are missed. The other two types of test are Clinical pregnancy which includes blood along with the pelvic examination. When women got a positive result in home pregnancy test then they can move further for clinical examination test in order to confirm the pregnancy length.

Blood pregnancy test- This test is performed in the clinic, where the person will have to fix the appointment in advance. In this test, the doctor will apply some alcohol in one place and tries to take the sample of the blood. It is then sent to the laboratory for examination. Blood pregnancy test is of 2 types

• Quantitative pregnancy test- This type of test is best as it will not only confirm the pregnancy but also state the actual length of pregnancy. It will detect the actual amount of HCG hormone in the blood.

• Qualitative pregnancy test- It will confirm the pregnancy by providing Yes and No answer.

Pelvic examination- This test is also done after 7 weeks of missed periods. This test is performed by the gynecologist by inserting her two fingers inside the vagina to check the cervix. It will help them to find out the size of ovaries and the uterus which extends in pregnancy.
