What an AWESOME day!
The bike ride was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! (Photos posted! in the opposite direction than I did the ride, lol)
It took me 5 hours - normally I take 4 - because I kept stopping for photos, breathing in the fresh air. I think for the 1st half of the bike ride, my heart rate didn't get over 135, lol. Made up for it on the 2nd half - all hills, lol.
Robins, geese, red winged blackbirds and a bald eagle - no snakes. Yep, SPRING is here and it's incredible! The eagle followed me for the 1st 11 miles. Two times I stopped to take a photo but he was too far way. The last time, he was just in the right spot, screeching as if to say "how about here?" and when I stopped in front of an old farm house to pull out the camera, the dogs there got nervous, so I didn't stay to get the photo. And the eagle didn't follow me after that. :(
And, while my thoughts wandered about the things I'm working on and about my last post, the only decision I made was to get a new bike seat from my next paycheck (I'll still be within that finance goal - don't need any more food/supplies in the house for another 2 weeks, so this paycheck is all mine!) Butt hurt at mile 22, started screaming at mile 29, lol, knees joined in at mile 30 to 31, then downhill to the house - 34 miles total. And I did it alone... Insecurity GONE! :)
Next weekend, weather permitting, I plan to try it in the opposite direction to see if it's tougher or easier. And regarding the weight loss goal.... 4,632 calories burned today. YES!
