What an amazing day

WOW what an incredible day yesterday was. I worked my Dog Maks for about 3 hours in about 1 ft of snow. Maks did awesome and found his subject all 3 times but got a little lazy on his indicator on the 3rd go round. I 'm thinking he was as tired as I was right about then. The Terrain was brush in spots, timbered in spots, semi flat with a nice big bowl in the center of the 80 acres. The main river was running right next to the training area and there were several fishermen out on the river that were distractions to all the dogs. Maks just ignored them. However he really really wanted to roll in the dead deer carcass that was close to the river, but when I told him to leave it he just rolled his eyes at me and ignored it. (Such a Good Dog!) I came home last night totally exhausted and with a bit of a swollen knee but feeling exstatic. I didn't get out of breath to bad, just a little climbing the hills in the foot of snow made me realize just how out of shape I was. (Yes I wore my dorky helmet ) I know I need to get going on my walking and exercising more, and Maks needs to get in a lot better shape before spring and summer get here. I don't know if either of us are up to a real serious search at this time. We do have another training coming up next week but in the meantime I will be working Maks every chance i get here at home.
