What a year...
I am still bummed that Cevyn and the twins couldn't come and visit last month. It is Cevyn's birthday tomorrow and we can't go there. I know - whine whine whine. I am lucky. Except for a nose that is running like a tap - allergies, all is well with us.
I just can't get my head around the happenings around the world. I just hope that something positive comes of it.
To add insult to injury, we had the storm of the century on Saturday. There was tremendous flooding in the NE quadrant of the city. The hail was up to tennis ball size. Houses were severely damaged as well as cars. The police were out in their boat to rescue people from cars on the Deerfoot, the main highway through town. Luckily there was only one tornado that was outside of the city. We live in the centre of the city at the top of a bluff so we had no damage.
The city is slowly opening up - we visited a patio for lunch last week - I felt almost giddy! We are still social distancing and wear masks when among people e.g. grocery shopping. Hopefully people will be reasonable and not go crazy now that shops are open. It looks like the numbers are going up, probably because of the marches.
So as Cevyn says when we talk on the phone "Not much going on here!'.
I hope all my SOTH are hanging in.

I'm glad you are safe from the storms... sounds like a whopper!!! I feel giddy when we got to go out to eat too... we dont do it often.. but it was nice!!! Hopefully you'll be able to see Cevyn and the twins soon! Hugs and love <3
Yes, what a wild and crazy ride 2020 has turned out to be!!! Glad y'all are safe and didn't have any damage. Prayers for those who did.
I know what you mean about getting out...even a trip to the grocery store in mask and gloves is exciting, LOL! We've gone to a little Mexican restaurant, patio seating, once and it was SO nice. Somehow even the food tasted better!
Praying too that we won't see another huge surge in Covid cases as life somewhat returns to normal; and of course many prayers for all the tensions, murders, destruction, and horrible acts of violence happening everywhere to end NOW. I just will NEVER understand racism! It's just SO stupid for anyone to think anyone is "less" based on skin color! Nor will I ever understand anyone thinking murder, violence and destruction will be what causes it to end. I pray for ALL of us.
Hoping you and Cevyn and the kiddo's will be together soon, laughing, eating ice cream and having lots of fun adventures! I know you miss them SOOOO much! When you talk to her next, please tell her I said hello.

Oh, I understand Marlene! I am still a little bummed about our Alaskan cruise getting canceled and not seeing my granddaughter since February. But I am getting over the whining as well LOL. I am glad you are on high ground and safe from the flooding. In 1994, we had a historic ice storm in Southern Maryland (In fact, I am wearing my tee today that says "I survived the Southern Maryland Ice Storm). Something Teri said about food tasting better since being able to go out reminded me of what happened to us. Many went up to 4 weeks with no power. My sister was staying with me since her husband worked for the power company. We were heating by kerosene and one night, my sister and I went and bought a can of Campbells Chicken Corn Chowder. We heated it on the kerosene heater and, to this day, we say it was the best can of soup we ever ate LOL.
Marlene, this is a difficult time and I think we all have some reasons to whine. It is hard not seeing family and friends and especially hard not seeing the Littles as they grow so very fast.
