What a painful day!
Today has proven to be one of the most challenging and painful days I have ever had. Not even from anything to do with my ex but rather trouble with my teenage daughter. The good news is that I will not allow anything to get the best of me anymore. I've become a survivor having gone through so much. I just keep reminding myself of something my father used to make me read again and again...whenever I struggled.... May God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change..., courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. It's much easier said than done... especially for a Type "A" Personality!
Please pray for me! I need help from above on this one!
Jim

I have no children but I have a friend who has a teenage daughter that she swears is an alien. She says her daughter was a sweet girl one day and the next day a stranger. It\'s got to be hard trying to find your way in todays world. I think you just have to maintain your rules and boundaries. Hugs to you.
Those are such words of wisdom.
May life bring to you what you need from it.

Teenage girls are one of life\'s often unsolved mysteries! Hope things improve and you are blessed with peace, serenity and getting closer to indifference toward your Ex!
Sending you strength. Hang onto the serenity prayer. It may feel all tipped over, but it sounds like you\'ve got your head straight, & that\'s the best starting place for dealing with anything.

Oh Jim, I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with things to do with your daughter. I pray you have the strength and calm to deal with whatever it is in the right way.
Keep saying the Serenity Prayer like a Mantra it does help. I will be saying prayers for you and your beautiful daughter too.

ahhh the teenage years---i remember those---and i was a saint compared to my brothers---(my mom is the only one who swears that girls are easier to raise than boys!)---Looking back as an adult, I remember as a teenager, I couldn\'t wait to move out and be on my own, my parents couldn\'t tell me how to live my life or what to do (although I was a good kid, had awsome grades and kept a job since i was 15...i still had attitude)-- I didn\'t get along with my dad, we never saw eye to eye---I remember saying \"when I turn 18 I was so moving out and living my life---but you know what---18 rolled around, 19, 20---it wasnt till i turned 21 that i moved out---now as an adult things have mended between me and my father and we actually have a relationship---So I guess my point is, stay positive, no matter what she says or does she still loves you and you will always be her father---she may distance herself and may do immature things, but that is apart of learning...guide her the best way you can and let her go and learn her life lessons...she\'ll return and eventually come around to realizing her home is the best place to be. My thoughts are with you!!
That Serenity Prayer helped me so much during my separation--it will help you too.
Breathe! Stay strong!
Hugs!
