What a difference a day makes

It's 2 1/2 years since I was first diagnosed with cancer in my appendix, it was found because doctors thought I had appendicitis turned out it was cancer in my appendix and so not only was my appendix removed and also the right half of my colon. This is followed by 6 months of chemo, CT scan after a chemo shows no cancer but multiple PE's caused as it later turns out by protein S deficiency, so that makes it two officially classified rare diseases in the space of 8 months.  Fast forward to today and meet with my oncologist for what should have been a routine check up, no such luck, turns out the CT scan I had 6 months ago showed something and that the one I had two weeks ago showed the something had grown, the something is in the region of my original tumour. Next steps are a PET scan followed by another oncologist visit which will take about 4 weeks in total. The hard thing about this is that I qualified as a ski instructor this winter something I  had been wanting to do for a while, actually have a job I'm really loving,  and really getting to the point of starting to put the last 2 1/2 years behind me and starting to enjoy living and this happens. At the moment I am thinking the cancer is back but has been caught early enough to be treatable hopefully with just minor surgery, hopefully not requiring a bag,and maybe more chemo and then start living again.
