What a difference a day makes!
(And a little sleep!) I feel much much better today. I guess PMS is over, Thank God!
Great news! Libby, the woman who has "Gordon" forwarded my information to Wendy. Wendy is the chair for the Gordon Setter Rescue of America!!! Oh, and she remembered me from the Gettysburg Gordon Setter Dog show and from getting Kona! 1) I found out that Rosie is Kona's mother! Rosie was taken from Almost Heaven (horrible puppy mill, raided multiple times, don't get me started.) This is where Kona came from. They were going to kill her!!! Anyway, Rosie had a malignant tumor in her tail and many many people donated money to help her get well. They amputated her tail and she survived and is doing well! There was so much money that this particular sect of Gordon Setter Rescue set up a Rosie foundation and helps other Gordon Setter rescues across the country with medical bills to save dogs! Isn't that cool! So I learned this and I am THRILLED! Kona's mom is famous and a hero! She made national news several years ago! 2) Wendy has 2 male Gordons she needs to place, and I now have a CHOICE! Can you believe it?
I downloaded a picture of "Red". He is 1 year old. Owner bought 2 male puppies and now realizes he can't take care of 2. So he turned one back to breeder. I am thinking of taking him. The 2nd one, I am waiting for a photo. He is 3-4 years old. Red is in Long Island NY and the other one is in Southern VA. Either way, road trip but worth it for me!!! I also heard from Sandy from Irish Setter Rescue. Boy there are all kinds of beautiful Irish Setters there! But she has a senior Gordon that is in desperate need of a home. Waiting for some more photos and emails and then I get to pick!!!
I had a 1 hr each way drive today to a homeowner water loss in Huntingdon Valley PA. Felt great! Much more positive! Weather is great and I actually enjoyed the drive! I picture myself slimmer, more energy and walking two beautiful setters! That is going to turn some heads, right!?
Bowling league tonight with Paul and David. Been drinking "Mio" drops in my water. Tea and also Mango Peach. Yummy! Going to have to get some more flavors. Take this on the road with me. Helping me drink more water and less diet soda. Going to either do Wii Walk It Out or take Kona for a walk. (Have to get in some steps to hit my 10,000).
I am jumping up and down with anticipation! won't get a dog until after vacation, last week of July anyway. if I get the other photo, I will download it. What do you think of Red?

PS- look at the photo and help me think of a good new name for him! Need some ideas. Thanks.
Very nice! I\'m having problems coming up with a name for him though... Not good with boy names these days. lol.
That is great and what an awesome story about the dogs history. I really like the Crystal Light Naturally Sweetened Drink Mixes as well. They don\'t taste like Crystal Light of yesterday. Have a great walk and vacation. XO :)
I am so bad at names! But I\'l try: Red reminds me of the red rock in Sedona, AZ, but \"Sedona\" might be too close to Kona. I have two beautiful large photos, artist\'s proofs from M. Fatali, of some red rock, it\'s beautiful, so I am predisposed to red & orange colors, my home office is even painted in a bright but earthy orange, lol, as are both of my bathrooms. Dog names? I dunno - I am so bad at that! But can\'t wait to find out what you come up with!
The breeder told me that she sold a dog to this man who bred him when he wasn\'t supposed to. Somehow she got this 1 year old puppy back. the guy had 2 males. He named them \"1\" and \"2\" . No lie! Then he got creative, bought a red collar and a blue collar to tell them apart and called the \"Red\" and \"Blue.\" Red needs a new name! :-)
Yes, I can see now how \"Red\" will never do considering how the name came about.
I\'m excited for you and with the exercises too!!
A good name will come to you in time. I\'m not any good at naming other people\'s pets. My Parakeets are Dan D and K T along with the other two - Hanna and Angel.
:-) Patricia
the name will come to you. he needs one that comes from your heart. so happy for you.
I am picking \"Red\" up on 7/30/11!
How about \"Mars\" after the Red Planet? LOL! You will come up with just the right name, for sure!
Mars! LOL! The breeder said she like Logan. She also likes \"Rhett\" as in Butler, and not too far off from Red.
I find that many changes can come about in 24 hours, hugs!
If he already comes to the name of Red it is going to be hard for him to learn another name since he is a year old. I tried it once with a puppy that was 9 months old and it never worked. I hope it does for you. Maybe if you can thnk of a name that ryhmes or very similiear to the name he has now.
I\'m not trying to discourage yu but just want to you know it could happen.
He is a beautiful dog and you are so lucky.
