Weptsday

Dearest,
What a day! Firstly, I seem to have reached my capacity for sleep. Awoke at 3:30 am and it was like I was up for the day. Amused myself for a couple of hours until I heard the coffee pot start (5:45), worked like a charm, went right to sleep and didn't re-awaken until 8:30. Then I had an incredibly busy day. Doogie lawyers legal asst. informed me that the judge was off on vacation until Monday and nothing could happen until then. All set for the well guy first thing in the am. Had to fill in at Audubon today, took care of everybody except the reptiles. Other volunteers were there doing them. Staff was busy setting up for an art show. Kids everywhere! Staff and volunteers all brought their kids with them. Of course, once the kids saw me getting pushed around by the birds, Lil Buddy especially, the realization arrived that this old guy can be played with. Although two older kids did help some. I've been toting water all day! I feel like Gunga Din only cold. Water for the birds, water for me, Water water everywhere I go. Not helping the shoulder situation any.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that the snow is so dirty. A huge bucket of pure white snow, so white it's almost blue, yields about a quart of muddy water full of grass, sticks, even leaves. Must be because it was so windy when it snowed. Made all the necessary phone calls, ran all required errands. Slept a reasonable amount, about 8 ½ hours. Going to watch a movie and go to bed again. Tomorrow I'm supposed to have water again WoHoo.
Until then Your Ken
