Went to the dentist today. had dental surgery to get tooth removed. i did good :)
Angel friends, i'm ok. i had dental surgery today, on the tooth on the left side of my mouth. they had a hard time removing the tooth, but finally got it. oh my, they used these chisels, it was wild! it was an experience. it's an extreme day, but i'm keeping strong. i did well, i'm so proud of myself. my mouth/cheek/jaw is numb. i got gauze in my mouth. my mom took me to walmart, and i had a hard time at the pharmacy, speaking, they couldn't understand me, but it was hard to speak, and made me feel embarassed, but i'm ok :) i'm just thankful to be home. it was a long morning. i got 2 prescriptions. i have to go back to the dentist in the morning. i also need to go back in a couple weeks to get the stitches removed. i did so well today though, especially at the dentist. they were very nice, and made me feel comfortable. the dentist, and assistant talked with me about my city, and gardening :) i'm super proud with how well i did :) You all were right there with me in spirit, and helped guide me through the experience. :) i overcame my fear today :) it's good to be home, and resting :)
Hi angel friends. :) i hope you all are doing well, and having a good day :) i want to take this time, to thank you all, so very much, for being here for me, especially during the day today. i have felt your loving spirits with me comforting me. it's helped guide me through the day, and helped me make it through the experience today. oh my! what an experience i had, but i'm so thankful all turned out ok. i had dental surgery today. i'm feeling very proud, and also feel very strong, and positive. :) i think going to walmart after the dentist, was the roughest part, but my whole left side of my mouth was very numb, puffy, and i have gauze in my mouth, and had trouble talking to the person at the pharmary there, but other than that, things went ok, especially at the dentist. i've been needing to get my tooth taken care of. i'm just so thankful, to be home, resting :) Big hug for everyone for sticking with me, throughout the day today :) i am very blessed, and thankful :)
Visit to the the dentist. This morning, after 9am, i was all set, and ready for my 1st dentist appointment, since i was in the 3rd grade. i felt strong, brave. You all helped me build up the strength, and bravery to go today. :) my dad drove my mom and i, to Dr. Mckay's dental office, down the road from us, it's like, right across from the post office :) on the way there, i said, "mom, i wish we were going to the post office" :) hehe! :) we shared a smile :) we arrived, and my mom and i went in :) The office is very cozy, as it's a part of Dr. McKay's home :) he has his office, and then his home attached right next to it :) it's really neat, and cool :) my mom sat down, and i went up to the office booth area. the receptionist asked me for photo id (i didn't have any), but i did have my dental insurance card. She was really nice, and gave me some papers to fill out. :) i sat down next to my mom, i filled out the paper work, signed it :) i brought it back up to them, and another patient was called in. i was sitting with my mom, talking, looked at a sports illustrated magazine :) i felt calm, relaxed, really focused. i wasn't nervous, and wasn't scared.
The dental assistance came in, and said, "Chris, come with me" :) i knew it was time :) i followed the assistant, down the stairs, and there are 2 dental rooms, side by side, and wide open too. i sat down on the dental chair. the assistant, and receptionist asked me some questions, they both looked at my 2 teeth that need dental work. the receptionist asked me, if i wanted 2 x-rays, or x-rays of all my teeth. i choose just, the 2 teeth. they had this desk area, with a computer, and a computer/picture monitor up above the area. i was feeling relaxed, i had a nice view of some nature, from the window that is there. i saw some flowers, and trees :) i was being very brave, and strong :) i was in the moments, thinking, "wow! i'm really here!" hehe! :) i told the 2 workers, that i almost came last year, but i chickened out, and we shared a laugh, but they said, it's ok :)
They got me ready, for my teeth x-rays. they put this camera thing in my mouth, and i had to bite down on it, and they put this picture/camera lends on my cheek, and took the picture of my left tooth, and my right tooth. my teeth they were taking picture of, are the #19 tooth, and #30 tooth. as soon as they x-ray my 2 teeth, it showed up, on the screen monitor. it was pretty cool :) Then, one of the assistance, got 2 sticks with cotton or something, with some sort of stuff that numbed an area of my tooth/gums. the assistant put the 2 sticks in my mouth, and it started to really numb my tongue/throat, it was like, that ora-jel stuff. i felt a little uncomfortable, but was ok :) 1 assistant stayed with me, and was talking with me about my city, and she mentioned she went to high school in Montville :) i mentioned i went to Norwich Tech :) i was telling her about the school, and some times i enjoyed there :) it was nice social interaction :) i was doing really well :)
Dr. McKay came into the room area, and took a look at my x-rays. he immediately said, tooth #19, has to be removed. it was in very rough shape. they brought in this paper, with information about having a tooth removed. i had to read it, and then had to write my initials on the paper, if i agreed to what the paper said :) the last one, was if i wanted them to do something, to the gum area, it would have been $519 more, i said, "decline" on that. i had to write decline. The doctor filled out some papers, and then they had me put on these glasses/shades, to protect my eyes from the light. i felt like mr. cool sunflower! hehe! :) i was laying back, and they put this light over my face/mouth, and they were looking at my teeth, and then got ready, to give me the novacane. dr. McKay said, raise your left hand if it hurts/feels like a pinch. he began to give me some shots in my gum/tooth area, and i could feel it a bit still, they gave me about 4 shots, before i finally felt tingley numbness leading through my tongue and my lips.
they let the novacane set in for a good 15 minutes. the assistant talked with me. i asked her, how long it may take, to get a tooth removed. she said, some teeth, take about 5 minutes, but some take longer. the other assistant mentioned, if i needed dental surgery, it would cost a bit more. i said, "that is fine". after about 15 minutes, the dentist came back in, and wanted to check my mouth to see my tooth area was numb. he used a needle, and said, "can you feel this?i said, "no". he said, "good". then, i was laying way back, and the dentist was on my right, the assistant was on my left, and she had this tube, with water, and looked like some sort of suction thing. he had a mirror, and other tools, i just looked up at the ceiling a lot. i had to open my mouth wide, and the dentist began to use the tools. he was pressing down on the tooth, i was a bit nervous, it didn't hurt though. i was very proud of how well i was doing.
Every now and then, the assistant would give me this tube of water, then the suction. they were working on my tooth, the dentist got this drill, and looked like a mini saw tool, and i couldn't feel a thing. the dentist then asked for these other tools, they were like chisels! oh my!!! i was holding onto my arm rests, i was like, "here we go!!!" the assistant said, "this tooth doesn't want to come out". i knew then, they'd be doing the surgery. the dentist asked for another tool, then another tool, oh wow! this was wild!!! i heard the dentist breaking apart the rest of the tooth, it was a very wild, crackle! crackling sound, it was errie!!! but, i was doing ok, and handling it well. after about 20 minutes, the dentist then asked, for suture. he performed a procedure to sew up my gum area, from the surgery, stitches. i didn't even feel it. after it was over, i said, "my tooth is out?" and he said, "yes, you did great!" and patted my shoulder. HEY, I DID IT!!! I SURVIVED IT!!! :) hehe! :)
They had me sit up, and one of the assistants, gave me this paper, and read to me, about how to take care of my mouth right now. it's delicate. i got this paper, and they also gave me 3 prescriptions to get, including tylenol 3. i listened to the assistant, thanked everyone. i was just so amazed, and really mesmerized, by how well they did everything, and i felt very relaxed there, most of the day, the chisels and the tooth cracking sound was rough, but i did it, i made it, and survived it! :) they told me, i have to go back, tomorrow, 9:30am, for a checkup, and in 2 weeks again, to have the stitches removed. we're gonna go to the dentist after going to the post office in the morning, we can go right across the street, and will get checked :)
At the dentist today, it cost $220, but i also saved $140 with my dental insurance :) i'm thankful for that. :) the other tooth, the dentist said, i need a root canal. i'm not ready for that, but will decide down the road about that, but i'm just so thankful, i got one of my teeth taken care of. i thanked everyone, and my mom and i waved. my dad picked us up, and we drove back home here. my entire left side of my mouth, is completely numb, for a while after the procedure. my mom mentioned, going to walmart as soon as we could, to get the prescriptions. i said, "sure" :) my dad went to work, and my mom drove us over to walmart. we dropped the prescriptions paper off at the pharmacy there, and then my mom and i walked around the store, for a little bit. my mom needed to pick up some items. :) i was feeling a bit embarassed, as i couldn't talk well, and my cheek is swollen. we did browse around a bit, and then went back to the pharmacy. i've never gone to the pharmacy there before. there were lots of people working there, and i was like, the only costomer, and i felt a bit embarassed. i could barely talk, and i had to sign this electronic signature thing, i felt very uncomfortable, embrassed, it was too extreme for me, especially after having dental surgery. i told the person there, "Sorry, i just had dental surgery". she understood :) my mom stuck with me, standing with me. i handled it best i could :) my mom and i then went to check out. i just wanted so very badly, to be home :) i wanted to be home, and just resting :) when we got home, it was a great relief :)
the dentist, and assistants, told me i have to take it easy, and can't do anything strenous, for 24 hours, and i have my paper here, with instructions to follow. i have some mail, to mail tomorrow, at the post office. i got 2 packages, envelopes, to mail. we're gonna go to the post office around 9am, and then will go over to the dentist office across the street there, to get a checkup. i'm going to take another one of my medicines tonight. i took one earlier. it says i can take 3 per day. the pharmacy person, told me to make sure i don't take the medicine on an empty stomach, but right now, i can't eat. we were able to go to mcdonalds around 8am this before, and i ate a hashbrown, and had a blueberry fruit smoothie, before going to the dentist. i've heard, the tylenol 3, are strong. i'm gonna take one tonight, before going to sleep. i will keep everyone updated, on how i'm doing. today, and a couple days ahead, will be a bit different than usual, but i'm just so thankful. i feel very appreciative, my mom and dad, taking me to the dentist, the dentist Dr. McKay, his assistants, doing so well, and helping me, and my mom taking me to get my prescriptions. i'm thankful, and fortune, with time, i will be able to eat normally again :) i'm blessed, and thankful :) angel friends, i'm gonna reply to some of my hugs, messages, and will try to lay down a bit earlier tonight. i'm ok, and in great spirits :)Thank you all for all, that you do, for my family and i :) BIG GROUP HUG :)
-never lose hope :)

Dear Chris, I am so proud of you for doing such a great job at the dentist.
It great that you are home getting some rest.
Sending you lots of love and prayers
You did it Chris! You faced a big fear today. Woot Woot!! Rest and take it easy peasy friend. Much Hugs and Greenies
Congratulations Sweet Chris on getting your tooth removed. I wouldn\'t worry about the way you sounded at Walmart after you got your tooth removed, it is understandable and people understand and don\'t think bad of you. It is neat that your dentist office is attached to his home. Sounds like he did a good job. Do you have to get a root canal or can you get the other tooth pulled too so you don\'t have to get a root canal because root canals are pretty expensive and you have to make sure you have a really good root canal doctor dentist to do the job so you can not feel scared. I have had a few root canals and I was very afraid that I would feel pain during the procedure but I didn\'t because he was a really good doctor. I remember when my dental office gave me his name to do the root canal one of the patients in the waiting room assured me that she went to the doctor they were recommending and assured me he does a really good job so that relieved me. If you are able to get a recommendation from someone who has had a root canal then you will feel more assured but if you are able to get the tooth removed then I wonder if that would be something you would want to do since you were able to do this for one of your teeth but it is up to you to decide what is best for you if you have pain on the other tooth. Hugs and love and best wishes and I hope you are doing well and your dental appt. goes well for you and that you have a nice time at the Post Office tomorrow. Hugs.
Well done Chris you are very brave :) x
I am very proud of you, Chris! :-) Take it easy!
love your writing area...:-)
Sending best wishes your way! :-)
Love and hugs,
